The Supreme Court has removed the ban on the film “Jodha-Akbar” on Tuesday in all states & UTs till 14th March. The court has directed all states to allow peaceful screening of the movie. The Supreme Court order comes a day after the producer of the film approached the Court for lifting the ban imposed on the film’s screening by various state governments.

The producer of film, UTV Software Communication, alleged that the film has been banned by state governments allegedly for political reasons & without giving any specific reasoning. The governments of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana & Uttaranchal had banned the screening of the film after a section of people objected over the alleged wrong depiction of some historical characters in the film.
